David "Flounder" Garcia's Drum

Yvette "Sheepshead" Solis and I are getting married this
July so its been fun. You might remember our painted nails story. I've
included a photo of a 26" black drum that I caught on live shrimp a few miles
north of the mouth of the Arroyo Colorado off the inter-coastal waterway.
Before this catch the fishing day was a complete bust and we used every type
of fishing bait and lures we could think of with no luck. Almost 6 hours and
11 locations later we decided to raise the "skunk flag" and call it a day.
After getting our equipment and bringing in our lines I went to the last rod
that my fiancé told me she hadn't finished reeling in. So I went to the back
of the boat to retrieve the rod and just as I reached for it and had it in my
hand the reel's drag began squealing signaling a fish on!!! Luckily, for me I
was able to stop the fishes run after about a minute. After a 20 minute fight
a good size black drum was landed. As guess you can say sometimes even the
fish can save the best for last.
Happy and safe boating you all.

David,
Just between us, if I nick-named my wife "Sheepshead"
I guarantee that she would re-name herself "Stingray" and whoop a knot on my
head.
Good Luck to the both of you.
