Kids Corner
Howdy! Welcome to the Kids Corner. This area is designed to help the
younger angler become a true sportsman, by helping you grow to understand more about the
sport and by providing a few basic tips that will help start you off on the right foot.
Anyone can grab a pole, bait a hook, and catch a fish. But a true
Sportsman or Fisherman develops a love for the sport that runs deeper than the act of
catching fish. This sport is called Fishing not Catching. Something I've
heard many times when talking to folks about fishing, is that the failure to catch a bunch
of fish is very disappointing, much like losing the football game. These folks have
totally missed the objective. The chance to be out in nature, communing with a phase of
nature that has changed little since man set forth on this planet, is the real purpose of
fishing. The actual capture of a few fish is an added bonus from the sport. I've never had
2 fishing trips turn out the same. There is always something new and interesting to
experience and learn from every trip.
